What if my kids see

ree

This is one of the most common questions I hear, and I understand why. As mothers, we’re always thinking about how our actions affect our kids. We want to protect them, set good examples, and teach them lessons that last a lifetime.

So when the idea of doing a boudoir session comes up, it’s natural to wonder: “But what if my kids see these photos?”

Here’s what I want you to consider: What if that’s not a bad thing at all?

The Example You Set

Your children are watching you, every day. They see how you talk about yourself in the mirror, how you respond to a camera pointed your way, and how comfortable—or uncomfortable—you are in your own skin.

When they see you avoiding pictures, criticizing yourself, or hiding your body, they learn that’s “normal.” But when they see you celebrating yourself, embracing your body, and stepping into confidence, they learn that’s possible too.

Rewriting the Story

Imagine your kids growing up with the memory of a mom who loved her body—even with its curves, lines, and imperfections. A mom who showed that beauty isn’t about being flawless, it’s about being confident.

Your photos aren’t just images. They’re proof that you chose self-love over self-doubt. That you gave yourself permission to be seen.

And when your kids see that, they’ll learn that their worth isn’t tied to being “perfect” either. They’ll grow up knowing that confidence is beautiful, and that loving yourself is powerful.

A Legacy of Self-Love

We often talk about leaving legacies for our children—financial, educational, cultural. But what about an emotional legacy? What if the legacy you left them was the permission to love themselves exactly as they are?

That’s what boudoir can be. Not just photos for yourself, but a ripple effect that impacts the way your children see themselves for the rest of their lives. So the next time you ask, “What if my kids see my pictures?”—maybe the answer is: That would be the best thing they could ever see.
